"We are deeply moved by this gesture of good will on your part that reflects the most noble values and ideals of Islam that you yourself embody" said Oded Wiener, Director General of the Israeli Rabbinate as he received the world famous "Sarajevo Haggadah of Passover" from Mustafa Ceric, the Grand Mufti of Bosnia Herzegovina, at the opening ceremony of the Community of St. Egidio's 25th annual meeting of world religious leaders currently taking place in Sarajevo. Reciprocally, Mr. Wiener presented Dr. Ceric with a silver-embossed picture of Jerusalem as "a small token of respect for you and your Muslim heritage from Jerusalem."

Windsor, ON – Today Brian Masse M.P. honoured the more than 8000 victims of the Srebrenica Genocide that took place in Bosnia between 1992 and 1995.
"This anniversary raises awareness of the tragic suffering of the people of Bosnia and honours and remembers those who were killed as a result of the policies of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and war crimes carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 1995," Masse stated.

I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean to stand here in solidarity with you as you remember your loved ones who were massacred and to recall another ugly chapter of man’s inhumanity to man.
Although the devastating pain of this crime belongs uniquely to the people of Srebrenica and all of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and most particularly to the family members of its victims— you are not alone.

As the Srebrenica Memorial Day anniversary on the 11th of July approaches its 17th year, we are once again reminded of the lengths that man could potentially go to when immersed in a state of fear, hatred and division.

On thursday, 10 May 2012, ECRL concluded its annual council meeting in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, issuing the Sarajevo Declaration: Ten years of living together in diversity and harmony which also reflects the meeting's main theme. The council shared in eight points its vision of the wholesome society in which the diversity of people are able to live and flourish together.
Therefore, besides tajdeed we think we should think of tasdeeq which means the confirmation and taking what is good for us today or what was good for our predecessors in the old times. There are some things that are good for us. Also because identity means continuity of memory, so we have to have this memory of our past in order to understand our present and build our future.

I am writing to express my concern about the election law in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
