The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the threats to life, serious insults and messages of hate that have been sent to the Reis of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Rifat-ef. Fejzić, in recent days.

– The Islamic Community in Montenegro and its Reis, through their overall activities, are the guarantor and promoter of good interfaith and interpersonal relations in Montenegrin society. These threats and outbursts of hatred are all the more heinous, regardless of their inducement – says a statement from the Public Relations Office of the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina also condemns the organized creation of an atmosphere of lynching, xenophobia and Islamophobia in the public space of Montenegro.

– The images and messages coming from Montenegro in recent days have disturbed Muslim communities in the Balkans and all citizens who do not see the future of these areas in anarchy, nor in the promotion of hatred and violence. The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina warns that such irresponsible and illegal actions of individuals and groups, if not sanctioned, could have far-reaching consequences for relations between nations even beyond the borders of Montenegro – the statement added.
