The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the hate speech continuously used by the president of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

As stated by the Public Relations Office of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik’s latest outburst occurred yesterday at an event that was supposed to be a dignified commemoration of victims of various faiths and nationalities who were killed in the fascist concentration camp "Jasenovac."

"The statement claiming that 'there is no difference between Hamas and Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina' constitutes hate speech and clearly paints a target on the foreheads of Bosniaks, who survived an attempted extermination and the crime of genocide by the same actors thirty years ago. Dodik’s statements are the best proof that the genocidal policy continues. They clearly reveal to the entire world the nature of these people and their 'values,' and why it is, in the interest of peace and the future, necessary to stop the evil that threatens everyone in the Balkans," the statement reads.

It is also recalled that just a few days ago, while evading the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik used the phrase "Muslim lair," dehumanizing Muslims and comparing them to animals.

"The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina expects the competent state institutions to prosecute this clear case of hate speech and public incitement to national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance in accordance with applicable legislation. It also expects political, religious, and academic representatives of the Serbian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia to distance themselves from and condemn such statements," the statement adds.
