Raisu-l-ulama: We are certain the people of the Emirates are with us, this is a matter of a political misunderstanding

In the past several days, Raisu-l-Ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazovic, has received a number of questions from the members of the Community and from the media, asking for his attitude or explanation of the fact that the United Arab Emirates have sent help for fighting against the corona virus to the neighboring countries of Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, but not to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Regarding this, in his statement to MINA news agency, he has explained that he is convinced that this is not the product of the attitude of the people of the United Arab Emirates, which have always been there for Bosnia and Herzegovina, alongside numerous government agencies and NGOs. Even now, we have indications that such help will arrive from several humanitarian agencies from the UAE, which the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina has already contacted in this regard. We are surprised by this situation as well. We are aware that help arriving to neighboring countries is often symbolic and that ultimately everyone, including us in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will have to rely on their own resources and knowledge, but that makes us even more understanding of the dissatisfaction of a large part of BH population who perceives this as a negative message from the friendly nation of the Emirates. We believe this is a consequence of the lack of agreement between political representatives and that this crisis is the best opportunity to overcome such disagreements.

Once again, Raisu-l-Ulama called onto everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the members of the Islamic Community, to rely first and foremost on God and then on their own resources, pointing out that Bosnia and Herzegovina has many friends in the world who have announced their actual and symbolic help in this crisis and that, as always, the difficult situation will prove who the heroes, and friends, are.

„No animosity towards our brothers from the Emirates, or towards any other nation, should appear among the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially Bosniaks. Politics is politics and it must not be allowed to destroy good relations between nations.“ said Raisu-l-Ulama to MINA news agency.

تلقى رئيس العلماء والمفتي العام في البوسنة والهرسك في الآونة الأخيرة عددا من التساؤلات من المسلمين ووسائل الإعلام في البوسنة والهرسك يستفسرون فيها عن ماهية المساعدات الطبية لمكافحة انتشار فيروس كورونا والتي أرسلتها دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة إلى كل من كرواتيا وصربيا والجبل الأسود، وعدم إرسالها إلى البوسنة والهرسك.

وبهذا الشأن صرح رئيس العلماء لوكالة "مينا" بأنه على يقين من أن الأمر لا يتعلق بموقف شعب دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، الذي كان وما يزال ـ مع العديد من الجمعيات الحكومية وغير الحكومية ـ يقف بجانب البوسنة والهرسك. بل لدينا اليوم أخبار تفيد بأن المساعدات لن تتأخر من عدة جمعيات خيرية في الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والتي تواصلت معها المشيخة الإسلامية في البوسنة والهرسك بهذا الشأن. وقد تفاجأنا نحن أنفسنا بهذا الوضع.

إننا ندرك أن المساعدات التي تصل أيضا إلى دول الجوار هي في الغالب ذات طبيعة رمزية، وأنه يجب على الجميع في نهاية المطاف، ومن بينهم البوسنة والهرسك، أن يعتمدوا على مواردهم وعلومهم الذاتية، لكن ورغم ذلك فإننا نتفهم امتعاض جزء كبير من جمهور البوسنة والهرسك الذي رأى في ذلك رسالة سيئة من الإمارات الشقيقة والصديقة. إننا نؤمن بأن سبب هذا يعود إلى سوء التفاهم المتبادل بين السياسات، وبأن هذه الأزمة تمثل الفرصة المثلى لتجاوز هذا الوضع.

ودعا رئيس العلماء مرة أخرى الجميع في البوسنة والهرسك، وخاصة المسلمين، ليتوكلوا على الله أولا، ثم على مواردهم الذاتية، منوها بأن البوسنة والهرسك لديها ما يكفي من الأصدقاء في العالم، الذين أعربوا عن استعدادهم لتقديم المساعدات الحقيقية والرمزية في هذه الأزمة، وأن الصديق عند الضيق، مستشهدا بالمثل الشعبي البوسني "عند الشدائد يُعرف الأبطال".

"إن الأمر الذي يجب الحيلولة دون حدوثه، بدء انتشار مشاعر العداوة بين مواطني البوسنة والهرسك، لا سيما البشانقة المسلمين منهم، تجاه إخوتنا في الإمارات العربية المتحدة، أو تجاه أي شعب كان. فالسياسات هي السياسات، ولا يجب أن يُسمح لها بهدم العلاقات الجيدة بين الشعوب".
