Gül Receives Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina

President Abdullah Gül received Bosnia and Herzegovina's Reis-ul-Ulema (Grand Mufti), Hussein Kavazovic, and his accompanying delegation at the Çankaya Presidential Palace.
President Abdullah Gül, during his talk with the Bosnian Reis-ul-Ulema which Turkish Chairman of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez also attended, congratulated the former on his new post.
Offering his thanks to President Gül for receiving him, Kavazovic reiterated their resoluteness to boost the existing relations between all the Balkan countries which he said have been living side by side for centuries, pointing to the cruciality that Bosnia and Herzegovina be a member of NATO and the EU for the establishment of peace, prosperity and security in the whole of the Balkans. As part of this, he continued, the stability in Serbia is of great importance as well and underscored the significance of the corroboration of the international community and Turkey toward the consolidation of the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
President Gül, noting that Turkey lays great emphasis upon the stability and welfare in the Balkans, reiterated its support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s integration with the European-Atlantic organizations, adding that all the relevant parties should act responsibly.
